We headed north east from Wolsingham towards Thistlewood Hall where we turned left, heading north, initially along Thistlewood Lane, before joining a footpath taking us to a trig point. Some of us took a short detour to visit the trig point.
The ground was icy so care had to be taken, several of us almost taking a tumble - better than walking though mud though. We continued through Ninety Acre Allotment to lunch.
Always on the lookout for unusual wildlife!
Santa's little helpers get some refreshments!
We then crossed the dam then followed the footpath to Newlands Hall. Instead of taking the direct route to Wolsingham over many stiles we crossed the road to join the Weardale Way on the south side of the river.
Then all the groups met up at the Black Bull for a slap up Xmas meal. Santa didn't hand out any presents and nobody volunteered to sit on his knee!
