Today we walked a circular route from Corbridge. After crossing the bridge over the Tyne we walked along the south side of the river looking for a dryish spot for a coffee break. Eventually we continued to Riding Mill where we had a coffee break in the shelter on the railway station platform (those that the got there first anyway). From here we continued in a south west direction towards Slalely Woods.
Russell had no difficulty finding plenty mud!
Crossing Black Burn
At Woodfoot we turned to follow the footpath to Dipton Wood and Lightwater Cottages. After passing through Dipton Wood we followed the lane for a while before turning left to Smokoehill Plantation where we stopped for a "fruit stop". Soon we joined Ladycutter's Lane and then soon after passing Roecliff Lodge we turned left to join a footpath into Corbridge to meet up with the other groups at the Black Bull for some well earned refreshments.
